One of the things I love most about being a studio maternity photographer is the gift of space—not just the literal kind, but the emotional kind, too. To be able to provide a quiet, cozy pause before the beautiful chaos begins again.

This session was just that: a pause in time, captured right at 39 weeks, when this gorgeous mama was so close to meeting her newest little love. She arrived with her husband and two older children—big sister and big brother—who were sweet as can be and so clearly excited about their growing family.

We started with several full-family portraits on a simple white backdrop. Clean. Timeless. The kind of images you’ll want to walk past every day in your home. You know, the kind that say, This is who we are. This is what matters. The kids cuddled in close, made a few funny faces, all giggles and excitement. (I mean… melt.)

I had dresses steamed and ready for her from my client closet. Each were pieces we had picked together during her pre-session planning appointment. Everything was chosen with intention to match her vision and her style. We paired the outfits with professional makeup the day of the session, giving her a moment to relax and feel pampered before stepping in front of the camera!

We moved to a warm tan backdrop, soft and earthy. Then finally to a rich black backdrop—dramatic, elegant, and yet again, timeless. She looked absolutely stunning in every frame. I couldn’t believe how much energy and beauty she carried just days before delivery!
