I first met Tara when she contacted me for family photos back in December of 2020. She came to me as a referral from a past client and we hit it off immediately. After that session she got a hold of me again, later, to update those portraits as the kiddos had grown (as all kids do) and that she wanted some pictures of the kids with grandma and grandpa. I am a big sucker for sentimental family photos so I was super excited to be able to capture this moment for them!

When we sat down for her design consultation, to plan out the details, she told me that her husband had mentioned in the past that he was sad that he did not have photos of him at his grandparents house to show the kids, to tell those stories, and reflect on… Immediately we knew where this session had to take place – at grandma and grandpa’s house here in St. Joseph, Missouri.

We spent the session focusing on the details we had planned prior. A mix of beautifully curated images of the whole family sprinkled in with photos of the kids being kids at grandma and grandpa’s. We laughed, played, and most importantly created beautiful sentimental family photos for them to look back on and cherish forever.
